ACOSVO's New Chief Exec: Lucinda Godfrey

ACOSVO, the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations is delighted to announce that Lucinda Godfrey has been appointed as its new chief executive. Lucinda will be moving into the role in early October.

Lucinda has been the chief executive of The Dundee Carers Centre since 2006, an organisation which supports carers of all ages and disabled people in Dundee. She has significant experience of leadership, service design and community engagement. During her time at The Dundee Carers Centre, Lucinda led a team of over 50 staff, 40 volunteers and managed a budget of £1.7 million. She is also a Trustee, and was previously Co-Convenor, of the Coalition of Carers in Scotland and has undertaken several other leadership roles such as serving on advisory groups and leadership panels. ACOSVO are excited for the energy and leadership experience Lucinda will bring to the role.

Lucinda said “ACOSVO has reported the significant challenges for voluntary sector leaders during the pandemic and highlighted that there could be a real sizeable gap in leadership in the future. The sector has demonstrated strength and resilience, continuing to deliver supports and services which our communities cannot do without both now and in the future. The role of ACOSVO is therefore more critical than ever to sector leaders.

I am delighted to join an organisation that is ambitious and determined to deliver on its strategic vision of excellent voluntary sector leadership in Scotland. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to lead the organisation to meet that challenge and to work alongside the Board of Trustees, staff, partners, and leaders across the country to achieve an impactful and lasting difference”.
